On Monday, September 11th, the Foley High School peer helpers begin a year-long campaign for National Suicide Awareness.
All year the peer helpers will be promoting awareness and spreading prevention messages that will help our student body understand that regardless of their situation or struggles, they are not alone.
“Every subsequent campaign this year will connect back to our theme ‘You are not alone,'” said Mrs. Champion, the peer helper leader.
Peer helpers are here for anyone who needs to talk about anything, so never hesitate to ask someone for help.
Peer Helpers will close the year in May with the Mental Awareness campaign, which includes a showing of a very powerful video and song with their message. They will be collecting donations for ribbons of varying mental health awareness colors.
All the proceeds will be added to Foley High’s donation for the Out of the Darkness Walk in October.
