Recently the FTA programs from Foley and Robertsdale high schools visited Auburn University at Montgomery to tour their College of Education Program. Kellie Shumack, The Auburn University at Montgomery Professor and Department Head of Curriculum, Instruction and Technology, reached out to FTA sponsors Kaytee Jones from Robertsdale High and Deborah Kilzer from Foley High about this amazing opportunity. She did such a wonderful job organizing the visit for these students.
The high school students got to tour and complete a class activity at the College of Education and AUM Early Learning Center, which serves as a lab school for AUM students. Students also visited the housing and wellness facilities.
The tour provided lunch by the Dean of the College Education at the Roost, AUM’s dining faculty and students. The high school students were very impressed by AUM, its campus, faculty, and students.
Additionally, the FTA sponsors were excited to provide the high schoolers with the experience of a day in the life of a college student at AUM.
