Last summer, my mom and I decided to cruise to Cozumel, Tulum, and Progresso, Mexico. It was 115 degrees there, and the ocean was just as scorching. Not only was the water super hot, but it was almost ten times as salty as the Gulf! The cruise there was windy and hot, but there were three pools and four hot tubs, so I wasn’t complaining.
When we got to our first stop, Tulum, my mom booked the excursion to the Mayan Ruins. I have to say, it sounds boring, but it was so beautiful and actually very interesting. It took a while to walk there, but it was worth it. We got authentic Mexican fish tacos and salsa, and we walked down steps to the beach. It was GORGEOUS.
Not only did we get authentic tacos, we also went to a resort in Cozumel the next day, and they had a buffet of all kinds of Mexican food! They had pico de gallo, queso, empanadas, burritos, tacos, tortilla chips, a build-your-own taco bar, and more! We got so full.
They had cool drinks like watermelon infused water and even pineapple mint infused water. I got a glass, went to lay out, and if I got too hot, I swam in the massive pool.
The resort had a place for massages, some refreshments, and a mini-beach beside the pool area. There was a couple of pavilion areas with hammocks, so me and my mom went to chill there before we had to leave for the ship.
My mom saw this old man making cool stuff out of grass like hats, baskets, and cute crickets. She decided to buy a basket from him which we still have today.
Mexico is one amazingly beautiful place, and I suggest that everyone vacation there at least once. I hope to go again one day soon. They have so many amazing excursions that you can do if you aren’t interested in what I did. They have scuba diving, snorkeling, shopping, sailing, sports on the beach, etc.
There are endless possibilities to what you can entertain yourself with. Mexico is in the top ten vacation spots on my list!
