This year’s Foley High School Homecoming Queen is Lacey Bemis. I interviewed her and asked her a series of questions.
How does it feel to be this year’s Homecoming Queen?
“It is such an honor, and it was very shocking to me. Sometimes I don’t even feel like I deserve it because there are so many sweet girls in our school.”
What do you do in your free time?
“Church, cheer, schoolwork, repeat…”
What do you value the most in your life?
“My faith in God. It is the one thing that keeps me grounded.”
What career path are you going to follow in the future?
“I want to be a nurse practitioner and then take my knowledge in this field to do mission work.”
What will you miss most about high school?
“The sense that we are a family and the pride we share for our school. ”
What was your first response when you found out you were the Homecoming Queen?
“I went totally blank from shock for about two seconds. Then, my daddy nudged me with the biggest smile on his face, and I knew I wasn’t imagining things.”
Based on your personality, if you were an animal, what would it be?
“I think I would be squirrel. I’m a very chipper person, and my reactions to things can be very squirrelly. I also hate the cold weather in winter, so like a squirrel, I would burrow up.”
Thanks for your time, Lacey, and congratulations!
