We sat down with Foley High School Varsity Basketball Player De’Forest Perdue, chosen as January’s Basketball Player of the month by Coach Hunter, to take a look on how he came into playing basketball.
When did you begin playing basketball?
I started playing basketball in the 7th grade. It was so much fun because all of my friends where on the team. SQUAD!
What is your position in basketball ?
My position on the team is a power forward.
What inspired you to start playing basketball?
Growing up, I was a kid who was willing to try anything. Once I came face to face with the basketball court, I have loved it ever since
Who do you look up to?
In basketball, the person that inspires me the most is Paul George. He is a wonderful player, and I hope one day I can be just as great as he is.
Do you have any plans of basketball for your future?
I hope to play basketball in college, but pro. ball is more of a dream rather than a goal.
What is your favorite basketball team?
My favorite team of all time would have to be the Indiana Pacers. Let’s Go Pacers!
If you could give a future basketball player some advice, what would you say?
Well, the obvious would be to work hard. Keep grinding until you reach your goals. And always remember, anything is possible if you practice and put forth effort to achieve it.
